Halloween O4
Katie and Emma had a great time at Halloween. Ashland has a 1 hour trick or treat time and toured around our neighborhood. The girls trick or treat bags bulged with candy.

At one house, a women goes all out. She has numerous Halloween decorations and dresses, fully made up as a witch. At first, Emma was a little bit afraid, but the lure of candy made her overcome her fear. I don't know if that is a good thing, but the need for candy is a powerful force.

As I told my 3 year old son to walk up to a strangers house and ask for candy, I thought for a second that perhaps he may be too young for this trick or treat activity.
My lovely and talented wife pointed out that Halloween is perhaps the only holiday where neighbors are involved. I think we need more holidays that involve the neighborhood.

Thanks for your comments.
I coached Emma to say "Trick or treat," but when it came to saying thank you, she always said, louldy, "You're welcome!"
