Spears in Purdue-Land

We traveled to West Lafayette, Indiana this past weekend to visit our friends, the Nielsens. We had a grand time. I attended the Purdue game with Lars and E.A. Alas, my Buckeyes let me down and lost, but being an alum of both places, it was difficult to not be happy for the Boilers.

It was nice to be back in Indiana even for a short visit.

The Emma Factor

There's a this widely known fact accepted in the Copen and Spears families -- it's called the Emma Factor. Turn your head when she's around and suddenly you could be entering the Emma Factor. It's sort of like the Twilight Zone, but without the SciFi elements, but sometimes just as scary.

In this image, you will see what happens when Emma gets away for a few moments at a family reunion and discovers a combination sand/mud pit. Look how please she is.

Uncle Scott in the woods with the girls

This past weekend, Uncle Scott visited and we had a grand time. We watched Jonny Quest adventures on DVD. It was a trip down nostalgia lane. On Sunday, we took the girls on a quick walk into the woods. A good time was had by everyone.

Halloween O4

Katie and Emma had a great time at Halloween. Ashland has a 1 hour trick or treat time and toured around our neighborhood. The girls trick or treat bags bulged with candy.



At one house, a women goes all out. She has numerous Halloween decorations and dresses, fully made up as a witch. At first, Emma was a little bit afraid, but the lure of candy made her overcome her fear. I don't know if that is a good thing, but the need for candy is a powerful force.
